TCA '09: Kardashians Say ‘Keeping Up’ Keeps Them Together
E! Reality Series Returns for Third Season in March

Los Angeles—Kim Kardashian and her clan, whose reality series will have its third-season opener March 8 on E! Entertainment Television, told TV critics Friday that their show has brought them closer together and that other families identify with them.
“I love reality TV,” Kim Kardashian said during E!’s panel on Keeping Up With the Kardashians at the Television Critics Association press tour. “Your job is to hang out with your family.”
She appeared at the session with her mother and manager, Kris Jenner, her stepfather Bruce Jenner, her sister Kourtney and her brother Robert, along with executive producer Jon Murray.
The family was pretty much in accord—with Robert the only one expressing some reservations—that the reality show, which follows the celebrity family’s hijinks, has been a good experience despite the tabloid attention it has brought them.
“I think the show has brought us all closer,” Bruce Jenner said. “But it’s putting yourself out there.”
Bruce and Kris Jenner have a blended family of 10 kids from their several marriages, and they told the writers that there are enough characters in their circle for viewers to identify with in terms of issues like raising children and having kids from different spouses.
Kim Kardashian also expressed the desire to see her romance with pro football player Reggie Bush go to the next level—like an engagement.
“I love him very much,” she said. “It’s going very well.”
But she said he is a very private person who doesn’t like the attention from the show while “I am a very open person.”
Also at its TCA session, E! announced it was doing a new reality show, Candy Girl, about a talent agency that books the women who appears in music videos. The 30-minute, eight-episode series will premiere March 8, following the third-season premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Candy Girls follows Danielle, who has built her company “Bella” into one of the premiere talent agencies for the music industry’s casting needs.
