GolTV Thursday announced that it has acquired exclusive U.S. and Canada broadcast rights to Brazil's most prominent professional soccer league, Campeonato Brasileiro.
Live coverage of the soccer matches begins in April as top Brazilian league players such as Rogerio Ceni, Ze Roberto and Gustavo Nery hit the pitch in their quest for the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A title.
The bilingual soccer channel will also exclusively follow the 20 regional teams challenging for the Campeonato Paulista trophy. The most famous soccer tournament within the state of São Paulo, the 2009 edition of the Campeonato Paulista will feature reigning champ Palmeiras fending off favorites Corinthians, Santos and São Paulo for the championship cup.

"GolTV viewers can now experience the passion and spirit that drive the world's most successful soccer nation."
The Campeonato Paulista will kick off on GolTV on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 4:00 p.m. ET. A complete schedule of all dates and times for both tournaments will be available online at www.goltv.tv.
