Fuel TV, FX HD, Speed HD Get Boost From Cox

Fox Cable Networks Outlets Add Distribution With Cable Operator

by Staff -- Multichannel News, 2/3/2009 5:53:37 PM

Fox Cable Networks said it has a new multi-year agreement with Cox Communications to add distribution of Fuel TV in several markets and will gain Cox carriage of FX HD and Speed HD as part of an earlier deal.

Action-sports channel Fuel TV will rise to 26 million total homes with Cox rollouts in the Virginia Beach; Northern Virginia; Tulsa; Oklahoma City and Gainesville, Fla., markets. FX HD and Speed HD initially will be available in more than 600,000 homes on Cox systems.

"We are thankful for Cox's increased commitment to Fuel TV and its dynamic young audience," Fox Cable Networks affiliate sales and marketing president Mike Hopkins said in a release. "These new deals for FX HD and Speed HD keep those networks on a tremendous growth curve. Cox continues to be a valued partner in the distribution of our cable networks, and we are looking forward to working with Cox to market these networks to its subscribers around the country."
