Lifetime To Play More Online Games With Merscom
Games Publisher Merscom Will Proudce Content Based On Programmer's Shows For PC, iPhones

Lifetime Networks will step up its online gaming efforts by partnering with publisher Merscom to produce four new casual games based on the programmer's original content.
The deal, announced Tuesday during the Casual Connect Conference in Hamburg, Germany, will include the production of two adventure PC casual games, as well as a downloadable PC simulation game and a game created exclusively for the iPhone. It was unclear at press time which Lifetime shows the games will be based on.
Previously, Merscom and Lifetime collaborated on a hidden object game created in association with the female-targeted network's original series, Blood Ties. That game - based on the vampire-themed TV series -- sold nearly 100,000 online units in 2008, according to the network.
"As the leading women's TV channel, we're looking for games that are compatible with our programming and provide further interaction for our audience, said Lifetime games studio head Kris Soumas in a statement. "The games that we are creating with Merscom will allow players to engage on the format they prefer, whether on a PC or iPhone."
