TNT's NBA All-Star Delivery: 7.6 Million Viewers
Ratings, Audience Increase Over 2008 Levels

TNT's exclusive coverage of the 2009 NBA All-Star Game Sunday night from Phoenix was watched by some 7.62 million viewers.
That average represented an 20% gain from the 2008 NBA All-Star Game, according to Nielsen Media Research data.The contest was won easily by the West and co-MVPs Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant by a 146-119 count.The 2009 contest also posted advances among key demos: ahead 19% to 2.71 million adults 18 to 34; 17% to 4.43 million adults 18 to 49; and 23% to 3.8 million adults 25 to 54.
The All-Star Game amelioration comes hard on the sneakers of TNT's top performance in 24 years with NBA All-Star Night. The Feb. 14 extravaganza posted a 3.9 national rating, up from 3.1 in 2008.
That average translated into 6.55 million watchers, 26% more than the 5.21 million who tuned in the 2008 event, which had been the event's best.
TNT's regular-season coverage returns Feb, 19 with its exclusive Thursday night doubleheader.
In the first game tipping at 8 p.m. (ET) Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs visit Allen Iverson and the Detroit Pistons. In the nightcap Deron Williams and the Utah Jazz host Kevin Garnett and the defending champion Boston Celtics at 10:30 p.m.
