Sportsvision To Track Celebrity Arrivals During E!'s Oscar Red Carpet Coverage
Network Will Showcase Enhanced Star Tracker Application Following Use At Golden Globes

The company that brings viewers the virtual first down marker on football games is transporting its technology to Tinseltown Sunday night.
Sportsvision, whose yellow 1st & 10 line has become a staple of collegiate and professional pigskin telecasts, will have a similar application on display during E!'s pre-show broadcast of Live From the Red Carpet, where it will track celebrity arrivals and positioning on the paparazzi walk. In addition to arrows and labels, Sportvision's Star Tracker image-based system will allow the hosts to track a star in a "three dimensional perspective," perhaps starting out with who is "walking in close proximity to other celebrities who they are trying to avoid."
E! and Sportsvision put the same technology to use during last month's Golden Globes red carpet arrivals, but new features will be on screen this time around. As with the Golden Globes, E! will also be able to create graphic "name tags" for the stars.
Sportsvision has also authored such other telecast technology as the car tracking system on NASCAR races, K Zone for baseball and the glowing puck for hockey.
