Gospel Music Sounds Distribution Deal With Bright House In Orlando

Service Launched Sunday On Digital Basic On Op's Central Florida Division

Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 2/23/2009 4:51:57 PM

Gospel Music Channel received a distribution boost Sunday, launching on Bright House Network's Central Florida Division.
The rollout, terms of which were not disclosed, came on digital basic, said a Gospel spokesman.
The operator's Central Florida Division serves the Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne DMA, the nation's 19th largest TV market, according to Nielsen Media Research. The system serves 500,000 subscribers.
With the launch, Gospel counts some 41 million subscribers in all of the nation's 210 DMA. The network, which purchased Black Family Channel in 2007, has kept its rapid sub growth apace, lifting its sub count from 22 million at the beginning of 2008.
