Momentum Acquires VoIP Provider

Picks Up Boston-Area Firm vCentrix

Momentum, which provides outsourced digital voice service to smaller cable operators in the U.S., announced the acquisition of vCentrix, a nationwide provider of hosted VoIP solutions based in the Boston area.

The acquisition of vCentrix increases Momentum's existing client base to more than 120 operator partners and boosts its existing line count to more than 60,000 subscribers.

Momentum, based in Birmingham, Ala., was founded in 2000. it is one in a group of companies attempting to help small cable firms enter or expand their voice over Internet protocol services.
