Cartoon Commences Production On Second Ben 10 Telefilm

Principal Photography Begins In Atlanta On Alien Swarm

Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 3/2/2009 3:33:00 PM

Cartoon Network has begun production on live-action telefilm based on its animated action-adventure series Ben 10: Alien Force.
Ben 10: Alien Swarm will commence principal photography in Atlanta. Alex Winter returns to direct and executive-produce the latest installment in the Ben 10 franchise from a script from screenwriter John Turman (Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer and The Hulk). Winter directed Cartoon Network's first Ben 10 live-action movie, Ben 10: Race Against Time, which scored over 13 million viewers during its Thanksgiving weekend burst in 2007.
During its Nov. 22, 2007 premiere, Ben 10: Race Against Time became the most-watched telecast in Cartoon Network history. The 90-minute film was based on the original Ben 10 series and delivered almost 3.99 million viewers age 2+. The movie helped Cartoon Network post its most-watched day ever in total day delivery among kids 6 to 11 (785,000), kids 2 to 11 (1.1 million), boys 6 to 11 (615,000) and boys 2to 111 (840,000).
Ben 10: Alien Swarm follows teenage hero Ben Tennyson as he breaks ranks from the Plumbers -- a secret organization that battles alien forces -- to help Elena, a mysterious young woman, uncover an alien threat to our world. Joining him on his adventures are Gwen and Kevin, super-powered heroes in their own right, who must trust each other's instincts to help save the day.
