Kmart Pins PPV Promotion Behind 'WrestleMania 25'

Consumers Purchasing Merchandise Can Receive $10 Discount Off PPV Buy

Kmart is teaming with World Wrestling Entertainment on a promotion supporting the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania.

The retailer will showcase a front-end "WrestleMania Madness" boutiques, displaying WWE-licensed products, including apparel, toys, bedding, entertainment and gaming accessories from March 8-21.

Consumers purchasing $50 ore more in WWE merchandise from Kmart outlets will receive $10 off their pay-per-view purchase of WrestleMania 25, which carries a suggested retail of $54.95. The extravaganza is slated for April 5 at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
Kmart is supporting the promotion with a designated 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania circular spread, in-store radio and TV broadcasts, extensive in-store point-of-sale materials, including WWE Superstar hanging signs, security shrouds and shelf talkers. WWE talent will also sign autographs at select Kmart outlets nationwide.
Online, Kmart has established a microsite at www.kmart.com/wwe. It has also purchased Web banners and will issue e-mail blasts. Moreover, the retailer, for the first time ever, will host live chats on March 9 and March 16 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) with WWE talent.
"Kmart has been a fantastic retail partner for WWE. This partnership offers WWE fans one more way to purchase merchandise commemorating this historical WWE event," said Michelle Wilson, WWE executive vice president of marketing, in a statement. "Kmart is a valued partner whose participation will help make the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania an even bigger success."
