London-based AmberFin added David Abel as worldwide director of partner management. He had been regional sales manager, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, at Software Generation Ltd.

Ascent Media

Santa Monica, Calif.-based creative, technical and distribution services provider Ascent Media Group has named Robert Blatt as senior vice president, product development. He was VP, general manager at AOL Software.

Also, Brendan Corrigan was tapped as senior vice president, content distribution and transport. He previously served as a director of Colt Telecom Group.

Mick Bass was named Ascent’s vice president, alliance management. He previously worked as services principal manager in Hewlett-Packard’s Digital Entertainment Services Business.

And Mark Laudenslager was named vice president, digital media operations and content management. He comes from Strategy Cafe.

Carat

Media agency Carat has tapped Steven Feuling as executive vice president, chief client development officer. He was VP, demand strategy and category development officer at Yahoo.

Cox

Cox Communications has promoted Jeremy Bye to vice president, field engineering in its Hampton Roads, Va., system. He had been the system’s director, network operations.

Drinker Biddle

Washington, D.C., law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath’s Regulatory Affairs Practice Group has added Mark B. Denbo as of counsel to its Telecommunications and Mass Media Team. He comes from Fleischman and Harding.

Golf

Golf Channel has named Norman Miglietta vice president of marketing, new media ventures. He comes from Turner Sports New Media, where he was tasked with growing the e-commerce and subscription businesses for NASCAR.com, PGATOUR.com and PGA.com.

Insight

Keith Hall was upped to senior vice president, deputy general counsel at New York-based MSO Insight Communications. He had been senior VP, government relations.

Nat Geo

Mark Wild has joined National Geographic Television in Washington, D.C., as director, international development. He comes from Animal Planet International, where he was director, production and development.

Also, National Geographic Channel elevated Carlyn Staudt to senior vice president, global acquisitions, from VP, acquisitions.

NY1

NY1 News has added Asa Aarons as employment reporter.

RCH Cable

Giuseppe S. Ballaccomo has joined RCH Cable in Moorestown, N.J., as Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager. He was South Jersey Area Director of Sales at Comcast.

SPT

Sony Pictures Television has named Karen Glass vice president of development, based in New York. She had been VP, creative affairs at Fox Television Studios.

WE TV

Jeff Meza advanced to director, ad-sales marketing at WE TV. He was manager, trade marketing.

Weather

Geoffrey Darby was named executive vice president, programming, at The Weather Channel. He most recently served as president, production and convergence/interactive at Oxygen Media.
