Spike TV Accepts Freshman College Football Comedy 'Blue Mountain State'

Orders 13 Installments From Varsity Productions

Spike TV is enrolling half-hour comedy Blue Mountain State for summer school.

From Brian Robbins' Varsity Productions (Smallville, Varsity Blues) and Lionsgate, the 13-episode series tracks three freshman as they adapt to life and lifestyle at faux college football power Blue Mountain State.
"Blue Mountain State contains four key ingredients to being a guy...football, partying, women and hazing," said Spike president Kevin Kay in a statement. "We're thrilled to be working with Brian Robbins, Varsity Pictures and Lionsgate on this outrageous comedy that combines college football with Animal House. And we think it's a perfect fit for Spike's young, male audience."
