Microsoft Silverlight Strikes Gold With NBC's Vancouver Olympics Coverage
Media Player Will Deliver Video Streams Of 2010 Winter Games

NBC Sports & Olympics has renewed its deal with Microsoft Silverlight to use the media player for the 2010 Winter Games from Vancouver.
The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, extends the alliance the companies struck for the Beijing Games last summer that helped attract more than 52 million unique users for the quadrennial competition.
During the Vancouver Games, NBCOlympics.com (http://www.nbcolympics.com) content will be prominently featured on the MSN.com homepage (http://www.msn.com), as well as on MSN Video (http://video.msn.com) and across the MSN and Windows Live networks, all moving the massive MSN Network audience to NBCOlympics.com's complete coverage of the Games.
"For the Beijing Olympics, Microsoft Silverlight technology set the standard by helping deliver the most dynamic online viewing experience to date. With the Vancouver version of NBCOlympics.com on MSN, we plan to raise the bar even higher," said NBC Olympics President Gary Zenkel.
CBSSports.com is also deploying the Microsoft Silverlight player for its March Madness on Demand Internet coverage of the 2009 NCAA Men's Division 1 Basketball Tournament, which tips off March 19.
