Arris

Suwanee, Ga.-based vendor Arris has upped Dan Whalen to senior vice president, sales, adding responsibilities for Cablevision Systems and Canadian and Eastern U.S. cable MSOs. He had been VP, sales on the Comcast account.

AvatarLabs

Henrik Markarian has been named director, technology at Encino, Calif.-based AvatarLabs.

Cablevision

Cablevision Systems has added Stephanie Anderson as vice president, marketing, commercial markets. She had been VP, services, solutions sales at Avaya.

Also, Amy Groveman was promoted to senior vice president and deputy general counsel, cable and communications. She had been VP, law, cable and communications.

Chadbourne & Parke

Charles M. Fish has joined New York law firm Chadbourne & Parke as counsel, intellectual property practice. He comes from Time Warner Inc., where he was VP, chief patent counsel.

Cox

Scott Knaub has been named executive director, wireless business operations at Cox Communications, based in Atlanta. He had been VP, business operations in the New England system.

Discovery

Doug Baker was named senior vice president, chief financial officer at Discovery Networks International. He had served in the same capacity at Discovery Communications' Digital Media, Emerging Networks and Business Development groups.

Entertainment Studios

Los Angeles-based Entertainment Studios has named Lisa-Renee Ramirez as executive vice president and executive producer of PETS.TV. She comes from KCBS-TV, where she was executive producer of the station's awards red-carpet and countdown specials.

Insight

Insight Communications has promoted Jeff Talente to director, fixed assets and purchasing. He had been senior manager.

Also, Ian Brown has joined the New York-based cable company as director, operational finance. He comes from DietTV.com, a health-and-fitness Internet startup, where he was responsible for finance and operations.

LatinWorks

Austin, Texas-based ad agency LatinWorks has added Dania Wasongarz as strategic planning director. She comes from Avrett Free Ginsberg, New York.

Also, Kurt Kirchner has joined the agency as broadcast director. He comes from DDB in Miami.

Lifetime

Lifetime Television has added Danielle Carrig as senior vice president, advocacy and public affairs. She comes from Step Up Women's Network.

Also, Amanda Crumley has joined the network as vice president, advocacy and public affairs. She is a veteran of political campaigns.

Media Storm

Media Storm has elevated Jenine Kelly, Chad Urice and Jamie Melecio to managing director in South Norwalk, Conn.; Mark Klatzko to managing director, creative and marketing in New York; and Gregg Rothberg to managing director, marketing in New York.

NCC

Spot-cable rep firm National Cable Communications has promoted Greg Schaefer to chief executive officer. He was COO.

NHL

The National Hockey League has named Scott Davis executive vice president, NHL Media Distribution and Operations, responsible for NHL Network, NHL.com, NHL Studios and NHL Events. He comes from Ascent Media Group, where he was president, network services.

Also, Stephen McArdle was named the league's vice president, strategic planning. He comes from management consultancy Bain & Co.

Optimum Lightpath

Cablevision Systems' Optimum Lightpath business-services unit has tapped John Macario as senior vice president, product strategy and management. He comes from consulting and research firm Savatar, where he was president.

Oxygen Media

Bryan Hale was named vice president, original programming and development at Oxygen Media. He had been VP, development, West Coast for Endemol's True Entertainment.

Also, Oxygen tapped Jessica Nicola as director, corporate and digital communications. She had been manager, communications at MTV.

Pluris

Framingham, Mass.-based multichannel marketing firm Pluris Marketing has added Diane Lucero as strategic relationship manager. She comes from Abacus, where she was VP, major accounts.
