Sprint Nextel is offering its cable-operator customers caller ID on the TV, voicemail alerts sent to customers' mobile phone and other features through a partnership with messaging-applications provider Integra 5.
Sprint provides wholesale cable VoIP services to 14 cable operators, supporting more than 4.5 million cable VoIP/digital phone subscribers.
In addition to caller ID on the TV, Sprint is offering caller ID on the PC -- to deliver notifications of an incoming caller's name and telephone number to the customer's computer before the phone rings -- Web-based voicemail management, voicemail-to-e-mail and auto-attendant features.
Ohio's Massillon Cable TV and Pennsylvania's Blue Ridge Communications are already offering such features through Integra5, Strata Group and Streamwide for voicemail, according to Sprint.
