Sportvision Inc., whose 1st and Ten Line, K-Zone and car-tracking virtual graphics have become staples of football, baseball and NASCAR telecasts, is bringing its technology to horse racing on Saturday.
TVG will sport the technology company's virtual graphics during its April 11 coverage of the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland from noon to 6 p.m.
Virtual distance markers and virtual "starting grids" will highlight the graphic effects, as Sportvision technology debuts on the horse racing service. Moreover, similar to the start of a NASCAR race, the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland will also mark the debut of virtual starting grids -- jockey silks -- whereby TVG will virtually showcase each respective jockey, complete with colors and any additional pertinent information, as they move into the starting gates.
"TVG is committed to providing horse racing fans with the ultimate viewing experience," said Sportvision CEO Hank Adams in a statement, "and I'm thrilled that Sportvision's innovative technology will play an integral role in the production of the Blue Grass Stakes."
Sportvision technology was also on display during E! Entertainment's coverage of the red carpet ceremonies at the Oscars and the Golden Globes.
