Intelsat, Liberty Sports Group Connect On Distribution Pact
Liberty's Trio Of Regional Sports Network On Intelstat's Galaxy17 Satellite
Intelsat, Ltd. has signed a multiyear contract under which the satellite company will distribute three regional sports network owned by Liberty Sports Group.
Utilizing capacity on Intelsat's Galaxy 17 satellite, located at 97º W, FSN Northwest, FSN Pittsburgh and FSN Rocky Mountain -- and its sub-region FSN Utah) -- will broadcast their live event schedules and local programming, including a full-time HD channel for each network, to sports fans across the country. Deal terms were not disclosed.
The Intelsat Galaxy 17 satellite also currently transmits MLB Network, Fox Sports and the Big Ten Network to thousands of cable headends throughout North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
"Liberty Sports Group requires a distribution platform that provides business growth, strategic penetration that reaches the sports fan and seamless transmission of our content," said Liberty Sports Group CTO Brian McHale in a statement. "With viewers' growing demand for sports programming, delivering our networks on Intelsat's Galaxy 17 satellite ensures we will reach cable and DTH communities with the highest quality signal."

i am very disappointed that my way of life is being disrupted. i watch stan almost every night and his show is part of my daily routine. i do not understand the reason behind the show being taken off; but if there is a chance that the powers in charge would reconsider their decision, i will continue to be a viewer of fsn.
