Cablevision has enhanced the Web site for its local news channels serving the metro New York area.
News12.com, the official Web site for News 12 Networks, has been completely redesigned to include live streaming video from each local News 12 channel and the News 12 Traffic and Weather channels.
Moreover, the site now provides easier navigation, more news and video content from the worlds of sports, business and entertainment via a superior video display, a highly customizable home page, more comprehensive weather center, and many other features.
The revamped News12.com provides more video of local news stories than ever before, enabling users to select the stories they want to view with full video-on-demand capability. The site now also has an enhanced "hyper local" weather presence, allowing users to easily find and navigate to relevant weather features including zip code level forecasting.
"Our new online presence is very exciting and totally focused on enhancing the user experience," said Patrick Dolan, President of News 12 Networks, in a statement. "We have created a video-centric site that's easy to use and offers even richer content, including more breaking news and exclusive in-depth local coverage, optimized for the Web. Visitors can now enjoy quick and easy access to up-to-the-minute hyper-local weather including multiple radar displays. And for the first time, a streaming video feature allows users to watch an entire News 12 newscast while at work, in a home office or even wirelessly over WiFi."
