Solekai Systems inked a deal with U.K. software and consulting firm Mirifice Ltd. to resell MiriATE, an automated set-top box test and control platform, in the Americas.
San Diego-based Solekai will offer the MiriATE system and provide support to broadcast service providers, applications developers and hardware manufacturers. MiriATE starts with a 16 set-top solution and can increase in increments of 16 to 384 boxes or more.
"With more and more functionality present in set-top boxes, the timing is ideal to be able to offer clients additional tools for faster and better testing methodologies" Solekai president and founder Martin Caniff said in a statement. "MiriATE is an excellent complement to our services and we are pleased to be able to offer it to our clients."
MiriATE can automatically test large numbers of set-top boxes with different suites of tests, including realistic endurance testing. The product also offers advanced video analysis, such as motion detection, region comparison and optical-character recognition - features designed to replace the need for manual recognition and verification.
Mirifice, founded in 2004, is based in Bath, England. http://www.mirifice.com/ The firm provides software development and consulting services to the broadcast industry.
