Reflective of the harried and economically challenged times, Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association has tailored its annual symposium to opportunities and challenges inherent to the recession.
With a theme of "Leading HR in Unprecedented Times," the June 9 event at Discovery Communication's corporate headquarters in Silver Spring, Md. will boast a stimulus-inspired registration fee of only $150 per person and a commuter-friendly schedule, kicking off at 10 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m.
The keynote session will feature Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav and CFO Brad Singer. Zaslav will discuss the role of human resources in supporting and adding value to a company's short- and long-term strategic objectives, while Singer will set the tone for the day with a look at how the economy is impacting industry employers and day-to-day operations.
Additionally, CTHRA's Symposium will include breakout sessions, featuring peer-to-peer sharing and the Excellence in HR Awards luncheon.
Details and online registration are available at www.cthra.com.
"Challenging economic times inspire innovation, and CTHRA's Symposium will spotlight savvy strategies that deliver results," said CTHRA president Lynne Ramsey in a statement.
