YES Wins With Yanks-Bosox Coverage, Even Though Bombers Don't
Friday Night's Game Top Show In New York DMA; Best In Rivalry Since August 2007

Just like home runs by Jason Bay and Kevin Youklis soared into the Boston night, YES Network's rating rose with its coverage of the New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game.
The April 25 contest averaged a 6.9 household rating in the New York DMA, reaching 651,000 viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The game, in which Yankees' closer Mariano Rivera surrendered a two-out, two-run homer to Bay in the bottom of the ninth, which ultimately led to Youklis game-winning blast in the 11th, was the regional sports networks' highest-rated in the Yanks-Sox rivalry since Aug. 29, 2007, which scored a 7.6 rating average.
Friday's telecast peaked at a 9.5 rating in New York, translating into 904,000 viewers, from 10:30-10:45 p.m.
YES's game coverage was the top-rated program that day in the New York DMA, and also claimed the top spot among men 18 to 34, 18 to 49, 21 to 34, 21 to 49, 25 to54, and with persons 18 to 34, 25 to 49 and 25-54. It was also No. 1 on April 25 with households and total viewers.
Friday's Yankees-Red Sox telecast also out-delivered that evening's New York Mets- Washington Nationals (SNY), New York Rangers-Washington Capitals (MSG), Cleveland Cavaliers-Detroit Pistons (ESPN) and Orlando Magic/Philadelphia 76ers (ESPN2) telecasts combined in household rating -- 6.9 to 6.5 - and men 18+ (6.0 to 5.3), according to YES officials.
