IFC Sets 2009-10 Slate
Fare Includes First Telefilm, Bollywood Miniseries

IFC will present a series take on the Bollywood movie scene a punk food princess and a Monty Python retrospective as part of its 2009-10 programming slate, the network announced Wednesday.
The Independent Film-tinged network will debut several new original series, including Bollywood Hero, an original three-part miniseries debuting in August and starring Saturday Night Live alum Chris Kattan as a washed-up actor who ventures to India to star in a Bollywood film, but finds adjusting to the cultural differences more challenging than he expected.
Other shows on the docket include Food Party, hosted by "punk-food" princess Thu Tran, that's described as a "psychedelic Martha Stewart cooking extravaganza;" Monty Python: Almost The Truth (The Lawyer's Cut), a six-part series featuring interviews with the surviving Python members along with archive representation for the late Graham Chapman; and Dinner With The Band, a reality series featuring chef Sam Mason cooking up delectable dishes alongside his favorite independent bands.
The network will also premiere its first original event telefilm, Laurel K. Hamilton's Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter, based on the author's best-selling paranormal fantasy novels.
The network has also acquired several series, including Ideal, a sitcom about the misadventures small-time unfortunate drug dealer living in Manchester; Wrong Door, a sketch show set in a parallel universe; and The Jon Dore Television Show, featuring comic Jon Dore.
Returning series include The IFC Media Project; Z-Rock and The Whitest Kids U Know, said the network.
