BigBand Networks announced it has appointed Mike Pohl, a former executive with C-COR, and Harald Braun, formerly CEO of Siemens Networks, as board members.
Pohl was president of global strategies for C-COR, a supplier of video-on-demand and other systems that was acquired by Arris. Prior to that, he was CEO of Larry Ellison's nCube, which had previously bought SkyConnect, an ad-insertion company Pohl ran as president and CEO.
Pohl, recipient of the NCTA's 2008 Vanguard Award for Affiliates and Associates, currently serves on the boards of Ascent Media and on the advisory board of Bycast. His seat on BigBand's board will be voted on at the company's May 19 annual stockholders meeting.
Braun is currently president and CEO of Harris Stratex Networks, a supplier of turnkey wireless network solutions and network management software, and before that was president and CEO of Siemens Networks LLC. His appointment to BigBand director was effective April 24.
In addition serving on the board of Harris Stratex Networks, Braun is treasurer of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions, a standards-development consortium.
