Out-of-Box Thoughts On Broadband Cash

(RE: “The $7.2 Billion Question,” May 11): I would hope the cable operators do a little outside the box thinking in regard to [the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act]. Some of the places without broadband are not as remote as you would think and California supposedly has 96% broadband availability. Cable can help solve this problem and also positively impact their bottom line.

(RE: “Lawyer Sees First Amendment I can imagine the White House and Congress salivating at the prospect of placing onerous conditions on broadcast stations applying for loans from these seminationalized lending institution. They will force these institutions to force these broadcasters to bow to the anti-freedom left’s demand that certain radio shows be taken off the air, or else, no loans.
