Mogulus Changes Name To 'Livestream'

Customers Include C-Span, USA Today

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 5/19/2009 8:00:00 AM

Streaming-video startup Mogulus announced it has changed its name to Livestream and said it has more than 1,000 paying customers for its service.

Livestream allows any Internet user to stream live video worldwide as a free, advertising-supported service, and also offers a premium service with a pay-for-usage model that starts at $350 per month.

The company's customers include C-Span, the World Economic Forum and USA Today (published by Gannett, an investor in Livestream).

The New York-based company was founded in 2007. It has already received a combined $12.7 million in funding from Gannett and angel investors. The company has 40 employees and has an additional office in Bangalore, India.

Mogulus in April bought the rights to livestream.com for $100,000, according to Domain Name Journal. The company declined to comment on how much it paid for the domain name.
