With conference playoff finals underway, the NBA Wednesday said it will offer every game from the semifinal round and The Finals for purchase on iTunes as part of a deal with Apple Inc.All of those games, which are being presented live by TNT, ESPN and ABC, will be available to download and watch on multiple devices through the iTunes Store (www.itunes.com) within 24 hours after each contest concludes for $1.99 each, according to league officials.
In addition, the pro hoops league will offer via iTunes more than 25 games from the first and second round of the playoffs, including every game of the historic first-round series in which the Boston Celtics topped the Chicago Bulls, as well as February's 2009 All Star Game festivities, comprising the showcase event itself, the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam and NBA All-Star Saturday Night, said network officials.
Also, NBA Digital will offer access to more than 20 of the league's best games during the 2008-09 NBA regular season, including Kobe Bryant's 61-point performance against the New York Knicks on Feb. 2 at Madison Square Garden.
The iTunes announcement comes on the heels of NBA Digital's recent deal with T-Mobile to offer for the mobile Android Market live coverage of the NBA Eastern Conference finals from four live streaming video channels.
The T-Mobile Close Up: NBA Eastern Conference Finals application will offer an Action Cam, featuring a range of footage capturing the on-court action; Player Cam, which features shots of players on the bench and on the court; Arena Cam, offering wide shots of the court from cameras positioned above the court and outside the arena; and Host Cam, dedicated to coverage of on-air announcers, and reporters.
