Chiddix Joins Arris Board
Former Time Warner Cable CTO Takes Post July 1

Arris has appointed longtime cable-technology executive Jim Chiddix to its board effective July 1, 2009.
Chiddix, 63, is currently vice chairman of OpenTV and serves on the boards of U.K. cable operator Virgin Media, Dycom Industries and Symmetricom. He was previously chief technology officer at Time Warner Cable, where he is credited with pioneering the industry's hybrid fiber-coaxial architecture.
"We look forward to having Jim Chiddix join our board," Arris chairman and CEO Bob Stanzione said in announcing the appointment. "His deep understanding of both the operational and technological aspects of the global communications industry will enhance the Arris response to the future needs of our customers worldwide."
