Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 6/26/2009 9:44:00 AM EDT

WFN: World Fishing Network will award North America's most "deprived and deserving" angler the fishing trip of a lifetine.
The dedicated fishing network is accepting entries through the end of July for its third annual "Adopt an Angler" contest.
The grand prize winner and his or her favorite fishing buddy will get to choose from three spectacular expeditions: fly fishing at the exclusive West Coast Fishing Club in Canada's Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia; sport fishing with Hard Play Fishing Charters in Tobago; or sport fishing with Reel Candy Sportfishing Charters in the Bahamas. The grand prize winner will also receive $500 spending cash.
WFN will also award the 29 secondary prizes a $250 gift card to Bass Pro Shops.
To enter, anglers submit a video or essay, with or without a photo, explaining why they are deprived and should be adopted by WFN. Entries are accepted online at www.wfn.tv/adopt or mail to: WFN, 184 Pearl Street, Suite 302, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 1L5: "WFN Adopt an Angler Contest.".
The videos, photos and essays will be posted online at www.wfn.tv/adopt to be voted upon by WFN viewers and site visitors. The top 10 vote getters will be voted upon by a panel of judges including WFN show hosts Mariko Izumi, JP DeRose, Mark Melnyk and George Poveromo.
The contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada, excluding Quebec, through July 31.
