AMC Buys Film Sites

AMC Digital Media Unit Gets Filmsite.org, Filmcritic.com

by MCN Staff -- Multichannel News, 6/29/2009 2:30:07 PM

Cablevision-owned AMC has acquired cinematic sites Filmsite.org and Filmcritic.com, flanking the cable network's AMCTV.com.

Terms weren't disclosed. AMC is part of Cablevision Systems-owned Rainbow Media.

FilmcriticdotcomFilmsite hosts movie reviews and features, while Filmcritic contains detailed commentary about the greatest movies, according to AMC, which said a new unit called AMC Digital Media will house the three sites.

AMCTV.com has movie-related content plus mini sites for series Mad Men and Breaking Bad and upcoming miniseries The Prisoner.
