Cox Bolsters CBS College Sports, The Mtn. Distribution Rosters

Operator To Add National Service, Regional Sports Network In Arizona, Orange County

Cox Communications will add CBS College Sports Network and The Mtn-Mountain Sports Network to its systems in Arizona and Orange County, Calif. next month.

The operator will position national sports service CBS College Sports and the regional sports network on its Cox Digital Sports and Information Tier, a highly penetrated package of more than a dozen digital networks, beginning Aug. 1. Deal terms were not disclosed.

CBS College Sports and Comcast jointly own The Mtn, which covers games and nine teams from the Mountain West Conference: Air Force Academy, Brigham Young University, Colorado State University, San Diego State University, TCU, UNLV, University of New Mexico, University of Utah and University of Wyoming.

CBS College Sports, which currently counts some 32 million subscribers, will be positioned on channel 187 in Arizona and channel 314 in Orange County. The network is also available in high-definition on channel 778 in Arizona. The Mtn.will be available on channel 188 in Arizona and channel 313 in Orange County.
"The recent growth and success of Mountain West Conference athletics is making the conference a must-have for college sports fans and distributors nationwide," said Bob Rose, executive vice president, distribution, CBS College Sports Network, in a statement. "We're pleased to expand both CBS College Sports Network and The Mtn.'s reach to several new Cox markets in time for football season, and provide fans complete Mountain West Conference programming that immediately strengthens the value of Cox's Sports and Information Tier."

"Cox has been a tremendous partner in the San Diego and Las Vegas markets by providing their viewers with programming they want to see, and I know college sports fans in these new markets will enjoy the live game coverage and original programming that The Mtn. offers throughout the year
