'30 Rock' Docks In Cable, Broadcast Syndication In 2011

NBCU Domestic Television Snags Deals With Comedy Central, WGN America, Fox, Tribune Stations

MCN Staff -- Multichannel News, 7/8/2009 6:09:42 PM EDT

Liz Lemon's life is going to get a lot busier in 2011.

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has found cable and broadcast homes for the syndicated runs of two-time Emmy Award-winning comedy 30 Rock.

Beginning in fall 2011, Comedy Central and WGN America will begin weekday stripping of the series, starring Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. The deals, for five seasons of the show within a show, fetched a reported $800,000 per installment. TBS and E! Entertainment were said to be in the hunt.
In addition, NBCU Domestic Television Distribution has notched barter deals with Fox and Tribune stations groups for the show in 2011, retaining three minutes of ad time per half hour. For their part, the stations will receive four minutes of local ad time in 30 Rock. The show will be double-run six days per week in access and late-fringe time slots.
