Comcast, Cisco Take Piece Of Home-Management Startup iControl
ADT, GE and Intel Also Contribute to $23 Million Funding Round

Comcast and Cisco Systems have invested in iControl Networks, a Silicon Valley startup that provides a platform to manage home security, utility and other services over broadband, as part of a $23 million third round of funding.
The round, which brings iControl's total funding to more than $45 million, also included new investments from Tyco International's ADT Security Services and GE Security, as well as continued investment by Charles River Ventures, Intel Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
The iControl solution lets users see and control their home security and energy systems via the Internet and mobile devices. ADT, for one, plans to incorporate iControl's platform into its monitoring network to provide home and business customers broadband-enabled services set to launch later this year.
