Actress/comedienne Joan Rivers was in rare form Wednesday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, taking shots at Jay Leno and Celebrity Apprentice personality Anne Duke, while pitching her new TV Land series.

Rivers, who will host a six-part reality series How'd You Get So Rich?, for the baby boomer-targeted network, took the former Tonight Show host to task for being boring in response to a TV critic question gauging her reaction to the new wave of late-night hosts launching shows this fall.

"I think it's brilliant that they put Leno on at 10 p.m. because America can get bored more easily and go to sleep earlier," said Rivers of Leno - who will host a weeknight variety show at the hour on NBC. "It will be nice for the Midwest because their crops will be greener."

Rivers also took a shot at her Celebrity Apprentice nemesis Annie Duke, calling her "Annie Douche."

As for the TV Land series, Rivers will profile the lifestyles of millionaires who worked hard and struck gold in various and unique ways. In addition, Rivers will take to the streets to interview the rich and famous to find out how they come about their lavish lifestyles.

While some of Rivers' subjects are interesting and somewhat odd -- including the inventor of the "Billy Bob teeth" --- Rivers said they all started with nothing and worked their way to fame and fortune.

"They all worked hard and they all are charitable," she said. "They're all amazing characters."

TV Land also announced the Aug. 5 launch of a new hidden-camera reality series Make My Day. Narrated by Nickelodeon and Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson, the series takes unsuspecting participants and guarantees they'll experience their best day ever as they meet their favorite stars and participate in great activities, according to TV Land president Larry Jones.
