Comcast this week will launch Universal Caller ID in Oregon and southwest Washington state, letting triple-play subscribers view incoming caller information on their TV and computer screens.
The operator said Universal Caller ID will be available to some triple-play customers in Oregon and Washington as early as Tuesday, and will roll out across the market over the next week.
Caller ID to the TV feature will activate automatically, although customers can turn the feature off or set it to "snooze." The caller ID to the PC feature can be downloaded at www.comcast.net/callerid.
Last week Comcast rolled out the caller ID features in Colorado. Other operators that offer caller ID on the TV include Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and Cablevision Systems.
