Dish Network Adds 2 More HD Markets
DBS Provider Adds Stations in Lima, Ohio; Alexandria, La.

Dish Network said Wednesday it is carrying local TV station signals in Lima, Ohio, and Alexandria, La.
With the moves, the No. 2 satellite-TV provider now offers local TV-station signals in 182 of Nielsen Media Research's 210 TV markets, or 97% of them.
Satellite operators have been under pressure from legislators to deliver local signals in all local markets as Congress works on a bill that would reauthorize satellite companies' blanket license to carry TV station signals.
The company also said it has added HDTV station signals from stations in three other markets, Columbus-Tupelo, Miss.; Springfield, Mo.; and South Bend-Elkhart, Ind.

The term 97% refers to the number of TV households covered and somewhere in prep or editing the reference got messed up I bet.
Irregardless the only reason Sat viewers bounced up so much is the local into local option. So one would wonder WHY they are not rushing to the last markets
to add them. Ask any SAT viewer how important LOCAl is & you will get an earful.
Typical of big "suit" dominated company's that they do not GET the huge connection LOCAL into Local has with Joe Six Pack etc.
Maybe the Sat Suits are cousins to the bright folks at AIG & the big banks.

Not only that, but please do the math. 182 out of 210 is NOT 97%. It's 86%. I'm sure the press release said that it was 97% of U.S. households, which is a very different number. But it's not 97% of all DMAs.
