Harmonic Lands Reseller For Cable IPTV Solution

Falcon IP/Complete to Offer Harmonic's Direct-2-Edge to Cable Operators

Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 8/24/2009 5:46:39 PM

Telecommunications services firm Falcon IP/Complete will resell Harmonic's IPTV solution for cable operators in the U.S., under an agreement announced Monday.

Harmonic's Direct-2-Edge solution enables delivery of IP video over a hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) network directly to IPTV set-top boxes, PCs or other IP-based devices, by bypassing the need to route video through a cable modem termination system (CMTS). Harmonic has announced South Korean operator SK Broadband as a customer for the IPTV system.

"Our objective is to offer revenue-producing solutions to all our customers. Harmonic's strengths, experience, strong focus on creating advanced solutions for cable customers, and their longstanding track record of technology excellence made them the optimal partnership choice," Falcon IP/Complete president and CEO Donald Cook said in a statement.

Privately held Falcon IP/Complete is based in Malden, Mo.
