It's official now: Royal Pains is USA Network's top first-season Nielsen performer.
The Hamptons concierge doctor show, which concluded its rookie run on Aug. 27, averaged 7 million total viewers, 3.3 million adults 25 to 54 and 2.9 million persons 18 to 49, according to Nielsen Media Research data. Those numbers surpassed those recorded by The 4400 during its first season, according to USA officials. The Royal Pains season one finale on Aug. 27 averaged a 4.4 household rating, 5.9 million viewers, including 2.9 million adults 25 to 54 and 2.3 million 18-to-49 watchers. Gauged against the show's prior week, the installment scored 10% advances in viewers, a 14% improvement with the 25-to-54 set and 4% with the 18-to-49 group.
