Internet-Video Management Platform Provider Grows Alliance With New Categories

Brightcove, an online-video management platform provider, said it has doubled the size of its partner program in the past seven months to include more than 200 technology, distribution and solution providers.
The company also has expanded the Brightcove Alliance partner categories, which now include content management, transcoding, e-mail and content, along with a new training and certification program for solution providers. Also this week, Comcast's thePlatform subsidiary -- a Brightcove rival -- announced 24 new partners for its own program, expanding to more than 80.
"The rapid growth of the Brightcove Alliance represents an enormous groundswell of innovation and value that third-party providers are building on top of the Brightcove platform," Brightcove chairman and CEO Jeremy Allaire said in a statement.
Brightcove's customers include Discovery Communications, A&E Television Networks, Fox Entertainment Group, AOL and The New York Times. The Cambridge, Mass.-based company was founded in 2004.
