Cablevision Systems has tapped P. Kevin Smith as senior vice president, chief security officer of the Bethpage, N.Y.-based MSO. He had been senior VP and corporate security director of Chevy Chase Bank.
Comcast
Ron Phillips was elevated to senior vice president, employee engagement at Comcast, based in the MSO’s Philadelphia headquarters. He had been VP, human resources at Comcast’s West Division in Englewood, Colo.
DIY Network
Danny Tepper has joined DIY Network as director, programming. He comes from Discovery Studios, where he was tasked with developing and creating new content.
Hasbro-Discovery
Donna Ebbs has been named senior vice president, programming, for the Hasbro-Discovery Communications joint-venture television network set to launch in late 2010. She comes from ABC Family, where she had served as VP, original programming.
Olympusat
Satellite-services firm Olympusat has tapped Tim Kelly as vice president, sales and distribution. He comes from Spanish-language kids’ network Sorpresa, where he was VP, affiliate sales and marketing.
PCT International
Mike Sparkman has joined Tempe, Ariz.-based last-mile and access-network solutions provider PCT International as executive vice president, worldwide sales. He comes from Aurora Networks, where he was VP, worldwide sales.
Rentrak
Measurement firm Rentrak has named Steven Walsh as senior vice president, sales, and Jeremy Gabor as director, sales. Gabor comes from Simmons Market Research, where he was VP, national media services.
Sundance
Shari Weisenberg has joined Sundance Channel as senior vice president of marketing. She comes from Syfy, where she was VP, strategic marketing.
Synacor
Buffalo, N.Y.-based technology firm Synacor has tapped C.J. Singh as vice president, product and engineering. He comes from Yahoo, where he was director, engineering and product development.
Time Warner Cable
Vin Zachariah was named regional vice president, operations, Time Warner Cable Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, based in Akron, Ohio. He had been regional VP, operations, in TWC’s Southwest Ohio division.
Trailer Park
Curt Doty has been named executive vice president of Los Angeles-based entertainment marketing agency Trailer Park’s new executive vice president, advanced content group. He comes from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, where he was VP, creative services.
Viamedia
Cable-rep firm Viamedia has added Ira Jacobs as director, sales, in its Long Island, N.Y., office. He comes from The Magna Group, where he was senior account executive.
Also, Mike Ball advanced to sales manager, Viamedia New York City agency team; Yehuda Kaplovitz was promoted to sales manager, New York City direct team, responsible for Manhattan, Staten Island and Westchester/Rockland counties; and Robert Vigilante was upped to director, sales, New Jersey team.
