Golf Channel Upgrades Audio Console

Uses Solid State Logic's C100 HD-S in Second Control Room

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 9/30/2009 3:33:33 PM

Comcast's Golf Channel has upgraded its second control room with Solid State Logic's C100 HD-S broadcast audio console.

Because the network already uses another C100 HD in is primary control room, the new console will give session engineers a consistent console topology and functionality between the two rooms. The C100 HD-S can handle both analog and digital audio from multiple sources, process embedded audio and share resources between control rooms.

"By having the newer C100 HD-S console in place, we can greatly streamline our production throughput because the engineering staff will always be working with the same console surface interface," Golf Channel senior director of engineering Ken Botelho said in a statement.

Solid State Logic manufactures and sells analog and digital audio consoles for music, broadcast and post-production professionals.

Golf Channel, which is based in Orlando, Fla., is distributed to more than 120 million homes worldwide. In addition to more than 40 PGA Tour events and at least 15 European Tour events per year, the network also televises events from the LPGA Tour, Champions Tour and Nationwide Tour.
