FX's Pilot Play Continues With Two More Series Orders
Premieres Of 'Terriers,' 'Lights Out' In 2010 Will Lift Network's Original Series Scorecard To 11

FX will add two more dramas to its lineup in 2010, ordering 13-episodes apiece of Terriers and Lights Out.
The pick-ups run FX pilot-to-series orders to six-for-six this year: earlier, the network announced that it will be putting Lawman, animated series The Archer, and comedies The League and Louie on the air.
With its extant stable of Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, Sons of Anarchy, Damages and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the general-entertainment network says it is the basic-cable leader with seven original dramas and four comedies in its lineup
Terriers, a dramedy from Fox 21, comes from creator/executive producer Ted Griffin (Ocean's Eleven) and executive producer Shawn Ryan (The Shield). The dramedy, tentatively set to premiere next summer, stars Donal Logue (The Tao of Steve, Damages) and Michael Raymond-James (True Blood) as an ex-cop and his best friend, who partner on an unlicensed private investigation business. Struggling with maturity issues, they try to solve crimes while avoiding danger and responsibility.
Lights Out, which should bow late next year, stars Holt McCallany as an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who struggles to find his identity and support his wife and three daughters after retiring from the ring. Financial problems leave him at a crossroads, as he's conflicted between a ring return or working as a brutal and intimidating debt collector. Produced by Fox Television Studios and FX Productions, Lights Out hails from from executive producer/showrunner Warren Leight (In Treatment) and creator/executive producer Justin Zackham (The Bucket List)
"The series orders for Terriers and Lights Out cap off an unprecedented year of program development for FX," said FX president and general manager John Landgraf in a statement. "It's great to be back in business with Shawn Ryan, who ignited the network's successful run of original programming seven years ago with the launch of The Shield. With Terriers, Ted Griffin and Shawn have come up with a very entertaining comedic drama that's a bit of a departure in tone of an FX series, but lives up to the quality of the network.
"In Lights Out, Warren Leight and Justin Zackham have delivered a very compelling character in Patrick "Lights" Leary, and we were just blown away by the performance of Holt McCallany in the lead role."
