"George Bodenheimer rose from working in the ESPN mailroom after college to becoming co-chairman Disney Media Networks and is well-known for his dedication to creativity, innovation, value and teamwork," ACC president Jim Maiella, Cablevision's vice president of media relations, cable and communications, said in a release. American Cable Association CEO Matt Polka weighed in with congratulations to ACA board member Might. "I am very pleased that ACC's leadership has decided to honor Tom Might with this prestigious award, which recognizes Tom's years of dedication to his company, his commitment to customer care and his valued service to the entire cable industry. Over the years, I and many others have come to rely on Tom's advice and wisdom on the vital issues of the day. As a result, I know that small and independent cable operators have made tremendous progress during Tom's tenure on the ACA board."

Bodenheimer and Might will be honored during the Beacon Awards Gala on Monday, Oct. 26, at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center kicking off ACC's annual conference, Forum 2009: Communicating Cable 3.0: People, Products & Value.
