'Everybody Loves Raymond' To Join TV Land Prime In June 2010

Network Acquires Sitcom Classic, 'The Nanny,' 'Home Improvement,' 'Boston Legal'

Through a deal with CBS Television Distribution, the Viacom inc-owned network in 2010 will also air sitcoms Home Improvement and The Nanny, as well as drama series Boston Legal, according to Larry Jones, president of TV Land.deal terms were not disclosed.

All 212 episodes of the off CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond will be available to TV Land beginning in the second quarter 2010, according to Jones. TBS has exclusive daytime rights to series, starring Ray Romano.

"Everybody Loves Raymond is one of TV's quintessential comedies, and we are thrilled to have the Barones join the TV Land family," stated Jones.

Home Improvement, which starred Tim Allen as Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor in the long-running ABC series, and The Nanny, which featured Fran Drescher as an outspoken nanny to the children of an upper-class Manhattanite, will debut on the network in first quarter and third quarter 2010, respectively. TV Land will share access to the shows with sister service Nick-At-Nite, according to network officials.

Drama Boston Legal, which starred an ensemble of actors including James Spader, William Shatner, Candice Bergen and John Laroquette, will premiere on TV Land in first quarter 2010, said the network.

"Raymond, Boston Legal, Home Improvement and The Nanny all speak to our audience of 40-somethings in different ways, Jones said. "From an office-based dramedy to family-oriented comedies, the themes and relationships in these series continue to make us laugh."

• Larry Jones is totaly clueless as to what babyboomers really want to see as classic TV. He has destroyed TV Land as to the original premise to what it once was. These shows are already on other networks and don't offer anything new to the viewers. Viacom is famous for taking one show and then airing it on a sister network.There must be a reason that after the digital transition RTV has gained vieweship and affiliates- they are offering programming that people want to see true classic TV. Viacom really needs to offer a TV Land 2 with nothing but classics or at least make the weekends classic TV from the 50-70's- But that will never happen
