Nick At Nite Greenlights Second Season Of 'Glenn Martin DDS'

Network Orders 20 More Episodes Of Eisner-Produced Series

Thomas Umstead -- Multichannel News, 10/6/2009 3:08:50 PM

Nick-At-Nite Tuesday renewed its original animated series Glenn Martin DDS for a second season.

The network has ordered 20 additional episodes of the Michael Eisner-produced series about a burned-out dentist who takes his family on a cross-country road trip, according to Nick At Nite officials. The series, which features the voice of Kevin Nealon and Catherine O'Hara, has averaged 2.3 million viewers in its freshman season, drawing both adults and kids: 40% of its adults 18-to-49 audience watches the show with at least one kid per household.

"Glenn Martin, DDS is an irreverent twist on the classic family sitcom, told in the style of Nickelodeon with a kids' point of view at the center," said Marjorie Cohn, executive vice president of development and original programming for Nickelodeon, in a statement. "We are excited to continue our partnership with Michael Eisner's Tornante Animation and to bring even more Martin family adventures to our audience."
