Los Angeles-based production firm Automat Pictures has elevated Katy Leigh to vice president and head of marketing and creative content.

Bright House

Kimberly Maki was named vice president, corporate communications at Bright House Networks. She comes from the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, where she was executive director.

Cablevision

Cablevision Systems has named P. Kevin Smith as senior vice president and chief security officer. He was senior vice president and corporate security director for Chevy Chase Bank in Chevy Chase, Md.

Crown Media

Crown Media Holdings has tapped Mark J. Kern as senior vice president, communications and media relations. He had been an independent communications consultant for such clients as Ovation TV and ReelzChannel.

Fox Cable

Fox Cable Networks has elevated Sherry Brennan to senior vice president, sales strategy and development, from VP.

FS Detroit

Joe Gerzema has joined Fox Sports Detroit as national sales manager. He had been local sales manager and director, sports sales at WMAQ-TV, Chicago.

FS South

John Nichols has been named digital content manager at Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Carolinas, Fox Sports Tennessee and SportSouth. He cones from Cox Communications, where he was manager of content products.

Gospel Music

Tiffany Thorpe was promoted to director, production operations at Gospel Music Channel. She was operations manager.

MSG

Jeremiah Bosgang was named senior vice president, programming and acquisitions at MSG Networks, responsible for MSG and MSG Plus. He comes from Sony BMG Music Entertainment, where he was executive vice president, television.

Also, Howard Handler was named executive vice president, marketing and sales at MSG Entertainment. He was executive vice president, North America at EMI Music.

Planet Green

Planet Green has named Laura Giacalone as vice president, marketing. She comes from Sundance Channel, where she was director, marketing.

Also, Ben Green was named the network’s creative director, marketing. He comes from Rush HD and Voom HD Networks, where he was VP, marketing and creative services.

QVC

Dave Caputo was elevated to vice president, content production at QVC from director.

Turner Sports

Turner Sports Ad Sales advanced Jennifer Barendrecht to vice president, Western region. She had been Western region sales manager.
