Time Warner Cable's Britt, Showtime's Blank To Co-Chair Cable Show 2010

NCTA's 59th Annual Convention Set For LA From May 11-13

John Eggerton -- Multichannel News, 10/14/2009 3:18:49 PM

Time Warner Cable chairman, president and CEO Glenn Britt and Showtime Networks Inc. chairman and CEO Matt Blank will co-chair The Cable Show 2010 in Los Angeles next May.

The National Cable & Telecommunications Association said Wednesday that its Cable Show 2010 will be held from May 11-13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and the adjacent Nokia Theater.

The centerpiece of Cable Connection-Spring, Cable Show 2010 will use the LA Convention Center for exhibition and meeting space, while the Nokia Theater, home to the Emmy Awards and other industry events, will house the conclave's general sessions.

Events surrounding Cable Show 2010 will also make use of L.A. LIVE, a new, one-of-a-kind entertainment campus. Adjacent to the convention center complex, L.A. LIVE offers a world-class sport and entertainment destination featuring restaurants, clubs, theaters, hotels and shopping.

"Los Angeles is the epicenter of the entertainment industry, and cable is the home to the quality Emmy Award-winning programming America's television viewers want," said Blank in announcing Cable Show 2010. "L.A. should provide a great backdrop for an exciting show."

Noted Britt:  "We are very excited to be hosting The Cable Show in Los Angeles. As a leader in both content and cutting-edge technologies - cable has a great story to tell, and with Hollywood and Silicon Valley nearby, Los Angeles provides a great opportunity to explore the convergence of award-winning entertainment and leading edge distribution platforms."
Exhibit space for Cable Show 2010 is now available. For more information, call (202) 463-7905 or e-mail exhibitinfo@ncta.com.
Online registration opens Oct. 21 at www.thecableshow.com.
