Oct. 14 Episode Down From Last Season's Premiere Among Viewers, Matches That Season Adult 18-49 Average

Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 10/16/2009 9:39:40 AM

Just as McNamara/Troy's plastic surgery business has been clipped by the economy, Nip/Tuck's sixth-season premiere fell a bit with total viewers or FX.
While the Oct. 14 telecast matched its season 5B average among adults 18 to 49 with 1.73 million of those watchers, its total audience declined 6% to 2.93 million viewers from 3.12 million for that season's debut, according to Nielsen data.
Among adults 18 to 49, the Wednesday night telecast dropped 21% in that demo from the season 5B start, which garnered 2.18 million of those viewers.
Relative to total viewers, the season 6 bow lifted 16% over last season's average of 2.53 million. With persons 25 to 54, the Oct. 13 airing topped last season's average by 13% to 1.72 million from 1.52 million, led by a 19% increase among women of that age.

The encore at 11 p.m. notched a 0.72, up 41% from last season's 0.51 encore average, according to FX officials.
