Oct. 14 Telecast Is RSN's Best Regular-Season Game With NHL Club

The Chicago Blackhawks' fast start in the 2009-10 National Hockey League season paid dividends for Comcast SportsNet, which recorded its best-ever regular-season audience with the club Wednesday night.The Oct. 14 telecast of the Blackhawks' 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers netted 94,300 households and 2.7 average rating in the Chicago DMA, according to Nielsen data. The telecast easily surpassed the 2.13 mark registered by the Blackhawks-New Jersey Devils game on March 27, 2009.
Wednesday night's telecast peaked with a 3.3 rating during the 8 p.m. quarter hour.
Comcast SportsNet Chicago was the top-rated TV network in the market Oct. 14 among men 18 to 49 and 25 to 54 during the duration of the telecast from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The regional sports network placed second overall in the market with adults 25 to 54 in the 9 p.m. hour, according to Comcast officials.
With a 4-1-1 mark, the Blackhawks currently lead the NHL's Central Division with nine points.
