Outdoor Channel Is 'Preferred' In South Florida

Network Now Positioned On Comcast's Digital Preferred Service In 'The Sport Fishing Capital Of The World'

Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 10/26/2009 12:01:00 AM

Outdoor Channel has reeled in added distribution in "the sport fishing capital of the world."
The network has been added to Comcast's Digital Preferred package in South Florida. As such, Outdoor, which had been positioned on the top cable operator's sports tier, can now be more easily accessed by Comcast digital customers in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties through the Florida Keys.
"Outdoor Channel is a natural fit for South Florida, and having it more widely available in our region allows our viewers to have access to quality, focused outdoor programming that speaks directly to our important local base of sportsmen," said Filemon Lopez, Comcast's senior regional vice president in South Florida, in a statement."Those of us who live in this area have access to some of the world's greatest fishing areas, waterways and public parks. With our affinity towards outdoor activities, Comcast is pleased to make the nation's top-ranked outdoor cable network part of our core digital package across Miami-Dade, Broward and the Florida Keys."

Noted Randy Brown, Senior vice president, affiliate sales and marketing at Outdoor Channel: "The South Florida market is home to passionate outdoor enthusiasts and a hotbed for some of the world's greatest fishing. Now, avid fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts in South Florida can easily enjoy our category-leading outdoor related programming."
