Clearleap, which sells a system for ingesting Internet-based content to video-on-demand, has added programming from eight partners and is letting pay-TV operators add content grouped by genre through the newly introduced Content Marketplace service.
The startup's Content Marketplace will include content in different genres, including comedy, pop culture, music, sports, science and nature, lifestyle, and "best of the Web" packages. Programmers and content aggregators participating in the service include For Your Imagination, The Pentagon Channel, MyOutdoorTV, Uncensored Interview, On the Flipside, Earth Touch, Inside Reel, and PlayOn Sports. Clearleap had previously signed partnerships with blip.TV, Next New Networks and Revision3.
According to Clearleap, cable and IPTV operators can use Content Marketplace to deploy an entire genre of programming with "one-click acquisition" and can filter and sort content by programmer, rating and popularity. TV providers also can preview content within the publishing and management platform, and dynamically adjust settings to ensure the content ingest is aligned with performance of a particular package.
Atlanta-based Clearleap's customers include Bresnan Communications and Atlantic Broadband.
